Grading Categories
Each card is evaluated across four key categories, each weighted equally at 25%:
1. Corners (25%)
- Evaluates corner sharpness, wear, and rounding
- Checks for corner touches, fraying, and surface compromise
- Ranges from pristine sharp corners to misshaped/fallen off
2. Edges (25%)
- Examines edge condition for chipping, whitening, and roughness
- Looks for notches, tears, and fill artifacts
- Assesses edge surface wear and integrity
3. Surface (25%)
- Analyzes scratches, creases, wrinkles, and stains
- Checks for print defects and imperfections
- Evaluates overall surface integrity and gloss retention
4. Centering (25%)
- Measures image placement within borders
- Compares left/right and top/bottom ratios
- Ranges from perfect 51/49 to severely off-center 95/5
How Grading Works
- Image Upload: Both front and back images are uploaded
- Computer Vision Analysis: AI algorithms analyze each category
- Category Scoring: Each category receives a score from 100-1000
- Dual-Side Evaluation: Both sides are analyzed; card receives the lower score per category
- Weighted Combination: Category scores are combined using equal 25% weights
- Final Grade: Overall score maps to one of 19 grade levels
Important Notes
- This is an AI estimate, not an official professional grade
- Image quality directly impacts grading accuracy
- Use high-resolution, well-lit images for best results
- Scores are for informational and comparative purposes
- Physical card condition may differ from what's visible in photos
Tips for Accurate Grading
- Lighting: Use even, natural lighting without glare or shadows
- Resolution: Capture images at 800px minimum on smallest dimension
- Focus: Ensure card is in sharp focus across entire surface
- Background: Use contrasting, solid-color background
- Positioning: Keep camera parallel to card for accurate centering assessment
- Coverage: Include entire card with all borders visible
